Brand new drive-up storage on the southwest side

Airport Storage is a storage unit facility first. The third-party storage facility is near The Eastern Iowa Airport (CID) in Cedar Rapids, and every unit is drive-up. You pull your truck, trailer or car right to your door, roll it up and unload. No elevators, no long hallways, no carts, no hauling boxes up a ramp.

The buildings are new, with bright white roll-up doors, black trim and wide paved aisles that leave room to back in a trailer. The site is easy to find, a couple of minutes from I-380, and it is close to the southwest side neighborhoods, Fairfax and the growing industrial areas around the airport.

We also coordinate inquiries for separate third-party airport parking, shuttle service and detailing near CID. Availability, rates and arrangements require confirmation.

What people store with us

Every unit gets used a little differently. Here is what we see most.

Cars, classics and summer toys. A 10x20 holds most cars and SUVs with room to walk around. People park the convertible for the winter, keep a project car out of the weather, or store the second vehicle that does not fit in the garage. Need power for a battery maintainer? The 10x30 with electricity is $295 a month.

Boats, campers and trailers. The 14x40 units have tall doors and plenty of length for a camper, a larger boat on its trailer, or equipment. They are $325 a month with no electricity, or $645 a month with electricity (Units 105 & 108). A 10x30 at $165 a month works well for a pontoon or a smaller boat.

Household moves. Between houses, downsizing, or clearing out a room for a remodel? A 10x20 holds the furniture and boxes from a smaller home. Drive-up access means you can unload a moving truck right at the door.

Contractors and small businesses. Tools, materials and seasonal inventory close to the highway and the airport. Back the work trailer up, grab what you need and go.

Students and seasonal storage. Dorm rooms over the summer, holiday decorations, lawn equipment in winter and snow gear in summer.

10x30, $165 a month, no electricity. A car plus shelves of gear, a full size pickup, a pontoon, or a bigger household move.

14x40, $325 a month, no electricity. Campers, larger boats, trailers and equipment.

14x40 with electricity, $645 a month (Units 105 & 108). Same size with power.

Why the southwest side

The area around the airport is one of the busiest growth areas in Cedar Rapids. The Eastern Iowa Airport welcomed more than 1.6 million passengers in 2025 and finished a major terminal upgrade. Just north of the airport, QTS and Google are building large data center campuses at the Big Cedar Industrial Center, and a third data center is planned on 33rd Ave SW. More jobs and more people moving in means more demand for storage close by.
